Do you have preferred genres?
I do! I would love to say that I would edit anything, but I have the courage of a chihuahua so I can’t read horror and I can’t get myself through a thriller for the same reason. Here’s a list of preferred genres:
Fantasy
Dystopian
Sci-fi
Romance
Literary Fiction
Young Adult
New Adult
Mystery
What about spice level?
I am not a smut lover, so low to none.
As someone who doesn’t enjoy reading spice nor writing it, I don’t think I would be able to give a complete feedback on a book that has a lot of it.
If it’s just a couple of mild scenes, I am okay with it. Closed door/ fade to black romance, kissing, or just simply hinting to it, is completely fine!
How far in advance should I book?
20 to 60 days, based off availability.
Do you offer sample edits?
Yes, I do, for a flat rate of 30euros for a 1.000 words sample.
What is your pricing structure?
All the prices are in Euros. Final cost may vary based off what your specific needs and requests are, like extra revisions or if you need another post-edit call, therefore, every quote will be customise according to the client’s needs. My rates are:
0,015 per word for full Developmental Edits.
0,01 per word for Manuscript Evaluations.
Starting at 199 for Coaching.
How much editing do you do on the actual manuscript?
For a full Developmental Edit, I will not re-write or change portions of your manuscript. My editing is limited to identifying possible issues, explaining them and suggesting possible changes you may want to explore. It’s your story, it’s not my place to re-write it.
How long does it take for you to edit a manuscript?
It depends on the length of the manuscript and sometimes also the genre, but usually about two weeks per manuscript (av. 80k to 120k words) for the full edit. I’ll give you a deadline by which I need the manuscript and a deadline by when I plan on delivering the edited manuscript one I have more details about it.
Is there a word limit for the manuscript you will edit?
Nope! Just keep in mind that more words mean longer times. If, for example, you apply with a 150k words manuscript, expect for the edits to take even 3 weeks or maybe more, but I will give you a more precise timeframe.
What if I am a first time author?
You are absolutely welcome! The editing process isn’t that different between a first time author and a seasoned one, the only big difference may be that first time authors sometimes need a little extra love, and that’s completely fine. We all need to start somewhere, and it actually would be a honor to be by your side during this exciting beginning!
I am not a native English speaker, can I still work with you?
Yes!
Fun fact, I am not a native English speaker either, but I am fluent in English, I speak, write and understand at a C2 level, and I graduated with a Masters from an international programme taught in English.
Aka: I know how non-native speakers can reach incredible levels of fluency in English.
How do I submit my manuscript?
My preferred format is a Word document, 1 inch margins, double spaced, Times New Romans 12.
To submit your request for a service, fill out this module and send it. I will review it and get back to you within a week.
Do you use AI?
No, I don’t use AI in any way during the editing process. It’s just me, my laptop and my notes.
Also, I do not edit manuscripts that have been written using AI.
What’s your cancellation, payment or refund policy?
I ask for a 30% deposit at booking for Developmental Editing and Manuscript Evaluation, full payment at booking for coaching.
If after booking you choose to cancel, you get a full refund on the deposit unless you cancel within 14 days from the beginning of the service, in that case I will keep the deposit.
Refunds aren’t issued after the service has been completed.
I offer payment plans if requested.
