Do you have preferred genres?
I do! I would love to say that I would edit anything, but I have the courage of a chihuahua, so I can’t read horror, and I can’t get myself through a thriller for the same reason. Here’s a list of preferred genres.
Fantasy
Contemporary Fiction
New Adult and Young Adult
Romance
What about spice level?
I am not a smut lover, so low to none.
As someone who doesn’t enjoy reading spice nor writing it, I don’t think I would be able to give complete feedback on a book that has a lot of it.
Closed-door/ fade to black romance, kissing, or simply hinting at it, is completely fine!
How far in advance should I book?
20 to 60 days, based on availability.
Do you offer sample edits?
Yes, I do, free for a 1.000 words sample. You can book it here.
What is your pricing structure?
All the prices are in Euros. I implement a flat rate system based on size tiers.
- Extra Small: <20k words for a flat rate of 300 Euros
- Small: 20k-50k words for a flat rate of 900 Euros
- Medium: 50k-90k words for a flat rate of 1450 Euros
- Large: 90k-120k words for a flat rate of 1950 Euros
- Extra Large: >120k words for a flat rate of 2400 euros
There is a 5k words grace area between tiers.
How much editing do you do on the actual manuscript?
I will not rewrite or change portions of your manuscript. My editing is limited to identifying possible issues, explaining them and suggesting possible changes you may want to explore. It’s your story, it’s not my place to rewrite it.
How long does it take for you to edit a manuscript?
It depends on the length of the manuscript and sometimes also the genre, but usually about two weeks per manuscript (av. 80k to 120k words) for the full edit. I’ll give you a deadline by which I need the manuscript and a deadline by which I plan on delivering the edited manuscript once I have more details about it.
What if I am a first-time author?
You are absolutely welcome! The editing process isn’t that different between a first-time author and a seasoned one, the only big difference may be that first-time authors sometimes need a little extra love, and that’s completely fine. We all need to start somewhere, and it would be an honour to be by your side during this exciting beginning!
I am not a native English speaker, can I still work with you?
Yes!
Fun fact, I am not a native English speaker either, but I am fluent in English, I speak, write and understand at a C2 level, and I graduated with a Master’s from an international programme taught in English.
Aka: I know how non-native speakers can reach incredible levels of fluency in English.
How do I submit my manuscript?
My preferred format is a Word document, 1-inch margins, double-spaced, Times New Roman 12.
To submit your request for a service, fill out this module and send it. I will review it and get back to you within a week.
Do you use AI?
No, I don’t use AI in any way during the editing process. It’s just me, my laptop and my notes.
Also, I do not edit manuscripts that have been written using AI.
What’s your cancellation, payment or refund policy?
I ask for a 25% deposit at booking for Developmental Editing and payment of the rest before sending my feedback.
If, after booking, you choose to cancel, you get a full refund of the deposit unless you cancel within 14 days from the beginning of the service. In that case, I will keep the deposit.
Refunds aren’t issued after the service has been completed.
I offer payment plans if requested.
